About Me

Physiotherapist, personal trainer and massage therapist in Plymouth, Devon

I’m Carla, a Physiotherapist, personal trainer and massage therapist with over 10 years’ experience helping people become stronger, move better and trust their bodies again. I qualified as Physiotherapist in 2023 after realising just how powerful movement is for both physical and mental health — and how much people benefit when rehab, strength work and hands‑on treatment all come together.

I blend hands-on physiotherapy and massage to ease pain and improve mobility, and use personal training principles to build long‑term strength and confidence. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain or simply want to move better, my approach is practical, supportive and tailored to you.

I work privately, across Plym Physio, City Clinic and in clients' home, making physiotherapy accessible where ever you feel most comfortable.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a way of helping people move better, feel stronger and recover from pain or injury through a mix of hands on treatment, movement and education. It focuses on how the body works as a whole - muscles, joints, nerves and movement patterns - and aims to restore confidence as much as physical function.

Physiotherapy looks at the root cause of pain or limitation rather than just the symptoms. It blends assessment, tailored exercises and manual therapy to improve mobility, strength and everyday function. It is suitable for people dealing with recent injuries, long standing aches, or simple wanting to move with more ease and confidence.

"I visited Carla with back pain and had such a positive experience. She quickly identified the source of the issue, explained it clearly, and made sure I understood how to manage it. Carla is knowledgeable, profession and also very kind making you feel completely comfortable. She’s flexible with appointment times and always checks in after the session to see how you’re getting on."

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a focused, hands-on treatment designed to ease tight muscles, improve mobility, and support recovery from training, work, or everyday stress on the body. It uses a combination of deeper pressure, targeted techniques and movement based work to help tissues feel freer, stronger and more resilient. These approaches help increase blood flow, reduce muscle tightness, and improve tissue flexibility. Sports massage isn't just for athletes. It's helpful for anyone dealing with muscle tension, stiffness or the effects of repetitive movement. It aims to improve how muscles function, reduce discomfort and support healthy movement patterns.

"I have been with Carla now for a while now, from our first meeting I have always been made to feel comfortable and listened to, the massage is exactly what I ask for and I always feel catered for what my needs are in that session. I come away feeling refreshed and worked on well by Carla."

Traditional Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Traditional Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle light-pressure technique that supports the body's natural ability to move excess fluid, clear waste and reduce swelling. It works with the lymphatic system - a network of vessels and nodes just under the skin - which plays an important role in fluid balance and immune health.

Benefits people often notice:
  • Reduced swelling or puffiness
  • Less heaviness or tightness in affected areas
  • A calmer, more relaxed feeling
  • Support for recovery after injury or surger

It's commonly used for lymphedema, post - operative swelling, chronic inflammation, and cosmetic concerns such as facial puffiness.

Mobile physiotherapy treatments in Plymouth

What to expect?

Your initial assessment is a chance to understand what's going on in your body and start moving towards feeling better. Everything is tailored to you - your goals, your lifestyle and what you're comfortable with.

We will chat about what has been happening, what you are feeling and what you would like to get back to. You will be guided through simple movements and tests to help me identify what's driving your symptoms - whether its strength, mobility, movement patterns or a combination.

Treatment often includes some soft tissue work, joint mobilisations, stretching or other manual techniques to ease discomfort and improve movement. You'll leave with exercises that are realistic, achievable and designed specifically for you. They're there to help you make steady progress between sessions without feeling overwhelmed. Together we'll map out the next steps - whether that's reducing pain, building strength, returning to sport, or simple moving more comfortably day to day.

Mobile Treatments

I also offer mobile appointments, bringing treatment directly to your home so you can get the support you need without the stress of travelling. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing long‑term pain or building strength, I meet you where you’re most comfortable and make your care as easy and accessible as possible. If you would like to book a mobile session or discuss whether a mobile treatment is right for you, please get in touch using the form provided on the website and I will be in contact within 24hours.
